Homecare and personal support workers and personal care attendants who provide services through Oregon’s Medicaid in-home services programs and Oregon Project Independence are paid a competitive wage. In fact, it’s higher than the national average for in-home care providers.
The current hourly rate for homecare and personal support workers and personal care attendants is $19.50 per hour. If you complete the various certification programs the Commission offers, you have the opportunity to earn even more.
Personal support workers can also be enrolled as job coaches (also referred to as PSW job coaches) that help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities be successful at work.
Wages are based on collective bargaining between SEIU (the union that represents in-home care providers in Oregon) and the Oregon Home Care Commission.
