Description
An Enhanced Personal Support Worker provides services to consumers who require advanced medical or behavioral driven services and supports as defined by DHS and assessed per the Adult or Child Functional Needs Assessment Tool.
A Personal Support Worker receiving enhanced service payments must be certified through an OHCC approved certified process or training program prior to providing services to a consumer with enhanced service needs.
Application Requirements
To register and apply for the Enhanced Personal Support Worker Certification Course, a worker must:
- Have an active provider number
- Pass the Enhanced Worker Readiness Assessment with a score of 80% or higher
- Sign the participant agreement
- Possess valid current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Have a “no-show” rate of not more than 20%
- Complete the Enhanced Worker Application and agree to the following:
- Have Internet Access
- Attend all classes
- Complete out of class work
